Day 1

Arrival in Whitehorse

Welcome to Whitehorse! Your tour guide will personally pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. After checking in, and taking a minute to relax after your travels, you will join the rest of the group over an included Welcome Dinner.

This is a great opportunity to meet your travel companions for the coming days, and to ask your guide any questions you might still have.

Day 2

Carcross & The Southern Lakes

On your first full day of the tour, we start with some of the sights around Whitehorse, including the SS Klondike and Miles Canyon, before continuing down the South Klondike Highway to Carcross and the Southern Lakes region.

Along the way we stop at Emerald Lake, the Carcross Desert, and of course; the community of Carcross. After some free time to to get some food and explore the artisan stores of the Carcross Commons, we make one more stop on the way home; to try your hand at gold panning!

Day 3

Kluane – Wildlife & Vistas

Today we set off along the Alaska Highway to the edge of Kluane National Park, home to 17 of Canada’s 20 highest peaks. The drive there winds through the Yukon wilderness, and along the way we pass through the territory of various wild horse, elk and bison herds. Not to mention all the black and grizzly bears that roam the area.

Once we arrive in Haines Junction, we will pay a visit to the Kluane National Park and Reserve Visitor Centre. After we’ve learned about the park and the largest non-polar ice field within it, we will jump back in our vehicle and head off to see a lake or two. We will make sure to make several photo stops along the way, it’s too beautiful around here not to!

Day 4

North; To Dawson City!

Today we start our journey north as we drive to the gold rush town of Dawson City. As soon as you arrive, it feels like you’ve been transported back in time as you drive down the dirt streets, lined with false fronted buildings and wooden sidewalks.

This evening we have a night on the town where you’ll have the opportunity to try what is quite possibly the weirdest tradition in Canada; the ‘Sour Toe Cocktail‘, before going to catch a can-can show at Canada’s oldest casino; Diamond Tooth Gerties.

Day 5

Exploring Dawson

We start the today with a guided tour around Dawson with Parks Canada. This tour gives us special, behind the scenes, access to some of the gold rush era buildings that are otherwise off limits to the public.

Then it’s off to the gold fields! Here we visit the Discovery Claim, where gold was first struck in 1896, which trigged the Klondike Gold Rush. We then make a stop at Dredge #4 and then, on the way back to town, we drive up the Midnight Dome for some incredible views of Dawson and the Yukon River.

This afternoon you have free time to visit the Dawson Museum, or possibly Jack London or Robert Service’s cabins. Or maybe just stroll the streets of Dawson, or take a walk along the Yukon River.

Day 6

Tombstone Territorial Park

This morning we set off to drive a portion of the infamous Dempster Highway, a 750km dirt road that heads through the wilderness and tundra, into the arctic. We make a stop at the Tombstones Interpretive Centre, as well as the iconic Tombstone Mountain Viewpoint.

Day 7

Return to Whitehorse

After a leisurely start to the day, we make our way back to Whitehorse, making a stop at the Five Finger Rapids viewpoint for a picnic lunch.

This evening, after we’ve checked into our hotel in Whitehorse, we head out for our included Farewell Dinner where we can reminisce over the Epic week we all just shared together.

Day 8

Departure Day

As they say, all good things must come to an end. Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport for your flight home. But don’t be too sad, you’ll soon be home, reliving your Yukon trip as you regale friends and family with stories from your time in the north!
